Finding clients consistently is the key to running a successful business of any kind. The number of clients you need, how much they pay, and your operating costs will vary depending on the kind of business that you have, but every business must have customers to stay operational. Get Known for Knowing Your Niche

When you are deep into a specific niche, no matter what you do in that niche, you will gain recognition. People love an expert and so the time you spend becoming an expert in your chosen field will pay off many times over when you are getting more clients than the next guy just because you know more about it. Have the courage to let go of your fear and start becoming an expert in your niche. Write articles, create videos, publish a book, and make it a goal to start-up a blog. Choose Something, and Do It Well

One of the most common mistakes that people make is to try to get before you give. This is frustrating for you as the business owner since you think you are doing everything right and are still getting no clients. In this economy, start to give more and you will start to receive more. Take on the social responsibility of being and doing more. One of my mentors, Eric Lofholm, once said, “There is always 1 thing that sells in any economy and that’s value.” Stop procrastination in its tracks and start giving more value to the people. The will love you for that.

Another business-building tip is to choose no more than three related things and become very good at doing them. Generally, clients are more interested in an expert that does one thing amazingly well than someone who does many things in a mediocre manner.

Be Persistent, the Clients Will Appear

It is easy to get frustrated when you have trouble finding clients, especially in the first year of business. But if you are an expert in what you do, you will find those clients if you are persistent in your marketing and networking. Take advantage of every opportunity to meet people and inform them of what you do. You will turn up contacts in unexpected places.

When marketing and networking, use tangible evidence and figures that you have achieved with past clients. This will make more of a lasting impression than your methods.

By following these tips, you will be a lot closer to maintaining a steady stream of clients who are ready to give you their money and recommend their colleagues to you.
